Learn to Fly

Have you ever wanted to learn to fly?  If so, you came to the right place.  Curry's Lake Flyers is a teaching field.  We have skilled instructors with hundreds of years of combined experience.  What this means for you is a great place to learn with great instructors.  "So, how do I learn?"  It is simple really.  Curry's Lake Flyers has several planes specifically for training.  When you come to the field we will give you what is called a "Buddy Box."

 

 

 

It is a remote just like any other remote, excpet that it is connected to your instructor's remote with a cord referred to as a "Trainer Cord."  This setup allows the instructor to take the plane "three mistakes" high and give you control of the plane.  Don't worry, the instructor also has theability to take the control of the plane back at any moment giving you a chance to make a mistake without jepordizing yourself or your plane.  This gives you valuable hands on flight experience that will go a long way toward your goal of learning to fly.

Several Common Questions are:

"Do I need a plane to learn to fly?"

No!  Curry's Lake Flyers has several planes specifically for new pilot to use to earn their "wings."

"Do I have to join the club first?"

No!  You are welcome to stop by the field and we'll be happy to give you the chance to fly and try it out!  Let  me warn you though, once you have flown, you will want to join!
